Things Are Fixin To Get Real Good Chords & Lyrics - Deryl Dodd

[VERSE 1]
[G]I moved to Nashville back in ‘91
I was [Em]hopin for heaven but I met the Devil’s son
David [D]Allan Coe was right ‘bout a long hard ride
Hell you [C]ought to see the little red [D]truck I drive
[G]Well I refused to be something I’m not
So I [Em]didn’t make the Music City News a lot
[D]But I don’t give a damn about that now
Cause some [C]people like the way I [D]sound

[CHORUS]
[G]Things are fixin’ to get real good
In the [Em]honky tonks you know I’m understood
[D]I been to the school of hard knocks and hardwood and
[C]Things are fixin to [D]get real [G]good

[VERSE 2]
[G]I made a lot of good friends they came from all around
We [Em]chased women and dreams while searching for a sound
But [D]we sank right down the musical tubes
Getting lost [C]in the crowd and drinkin’ [D]too much booze
[G]Lord knows I done a lot of things wrong
But [Em]I wrote em all down in my country songs
[D]Sometimes you gotta go to hell and back
[C]Just to know where you’re [D]at

[CHORUS]
[G]Things are fixin’ to get real good
In the [Em]honky tonks you know I’m understood
[D]I been to the school of hard knocks and hardwood and
[C]Things are fixin to [D]get real [G]good

[CHORUS]
[G]Things are fixin’ to get real good
In the [Em]honky tonks you know I’m understood
[D]I been to the school of hard knocks and hardwood and
[C]Things are fixin to [D]get real [G]good

[OUTRO]
[G]Yeah I’ve done my dance on sawdust and hardwood
And [C]things are fixin’ to [D]get real [G]good
[N.C.]Yeah they are
[G]I have done my dance on sawdust and hardwood
[C]Things are fixin’ to [D]get real [G]good
