[D]The day that the [G]rains came down, [C]Mother [Cm]Earth,
[G]smiled again.
[G]Now the [Em]lilacs could [Am]bloom.[D] ....[Em]now the fields could
grow [C]green..[D]er.

#2.
[D]The day that the [G]rains came down, [C]buds were [Cm]born,
[G]love was born.
[G]As the [Em]young buds will [Am]grow.[D] ....[Em]so, our young love
will [B7]gr..[E]ow, [A]love, [D]sweet [G]love.

[CHORUS]
A [D]robin sang a song of love.
A [G]willow tree reached up to the heavens,
as [D]if to thank the sky above, for [G]all that [D]rain,
that [G]welcome [D]rain.
We [D]looked across the meadowland, and [G]seemed to sense
a kind of a miracle, [D]much too deep to understand..
and [G]there we [Bm]were, so much in [C]lo..[D7]ve.

#3.
[D]The day that the [G]rains came down, [C]mountain [Cm]streams,
[G]swelled with pride.
[G]Gone the [Em]dry river [Am]bed.[D] ..[Em]gone the dust from the [C]val..[D]ley.

#4.
[D]The day that the [G]rains came down, [C]buds were [Cm]born,
[G]love was born.
[G]As the [Em]young buds will [Am]grow.[D] ....[Em]so, our young love
will [B7]gr..[E]ow, [A]love, [D]sweet [Bm]lo...[E]ve...[C]rain, [D]sweet [G]rain.

A fifties smash from Kraziekhat.
