In the qu[C]iet misty morning, when the [C/E]moon has gone to [F]bed,
When the [C]sparrows stop their singing and the [Am]sky is clear and [G]red,
When the [C]summer's ceased its gleaming, when the [C/E]corn is past its [F]prime,
When adve[C]nture's lost its meaning, I'll be [Am]homeward [F]bound in[C] time.
Bind me n[C]ot to the [F]past[C]ure. Chain me [F]not to the p[G]low.
[F] [Am] (') [C] [G] [C]
Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow.
If you fi[C]nd it's me you're missing, if you're [C/E]hoping I'll [F]return,
To your [C]thoughts I'll soon be list'ning; in the [Am]road I'll stop and [G]turn.
Then the[C] wind will set me racing as my [C/E]journey nears its [F]end,
And the [C]path I'll be re[Am]tracing when I'm [F]homeward bound agai[C]n.
Bind me n[C]ot to the [F]past[C]ure. Chain me [F]not to the p[G]low.
[F] [Am] (') [C] [G] [C]
Set me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow.
(Trill between 1st fret 2nd string and 3rd fret 1st string)
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
[C] (') [C]
When the sparrows stop their singing, I'll be homeward bound again.

the (') indicates a break in the music

This is how I play it and it works out well. It's a bit different than the piano score,
but I feel like it works better for the guitar anyway. Hope this helps.
