and I went crashin through the hen-house scattering [G]chickens and breakin eggs
and I [A]kissed the ground and fainted dead a[D]way.

Now friends I've done some fightin, and I've been[G] shot at once or twice,
and I [A]dern-near got run over by a [D]train.
But I can't recall the day that I was [G]many more afraid
