The Last One To Touch Me Chords & Lyrics - Porter Wagoner

Capo 2nd. Fret ? (Recorded in F)

[E] [B7] [E]

[E]If there ever was an angel then su[B7]rely you m[E]ust be one
If there ever was a perfect love w[A]hen I look at you I [B7]see one
If there's heaven on ea[E]rth then this must surely [A]be
And I want y[E]ou to be the l[B7]ast, one to touch [E]me

[E]The last thing I remember be[B7]fore I go to sl[E]eep
I[A]s the touch of your sweet lips softly kis[B7]sing me
And I go to sl[E]eep a thinkin' how happy you make [A]me
And I want y[E]ou to be the l[B7]ast, one to touch [E]me

And w[B7]hen it's time to lay me down, [A] for my eternal s[E]leep
Once more let your fingers, so[F]ftly touch my [B7]cheek
If I k[E]now that you have touched me, then [A]I can sleep in p[E]eace
And I want you to be the l[B7]ast, one to touch [E]me

[E]And when the night is over and t[B7]ime will be no [E]more
They s[A]ay that we shall meet again, upon the golden s[B7]hore
And [E]so when I awaken, from my eternal sl[A]eep
I want y[E]ou to be the f[B7]irst, one to touch [E]me

[E]I want you to be the fi[A]rst, the last, the o[B7]nly one to touch [E]me
