[VERSE 1]
It [Bm]seems so [F#]long[Bm] ago,
[Dmaj7]Nancy [C#m7]was a[F#m7]lone,
L[A]ooking at the L[Bm]ate Late show
Through [A]a semi-pr[E7]ecious s[A]tone.

[CHORUS]
[C#]In the House of H[F#m]onesty
Her f[D]ather was on t[A]rial,
[E]In the House of M[F#m]ystery
There w[C#]as no one at a[D]ll,
There w[A]as no [E]one at [F#m]all.

[VERSE 2]
It s[Bm]eems so [F#]long[Bm] ago,
[Dmaj7]None of [C#m7]us were st[F#m7]rong
[A]Nancy wore green s[Bm]tockings
And she sl[A]ept with [E7]every[A]one.

[CHORUS]
She n[C#]ever said she'd [F#m]wait for us
Al[D]though she was a[A]lone,
[E]I think she fell in [F#m]love for us
In nin[C#]eteen sixty o[D]ne,
In n[A]ineteen[E] sixty [F#m]one.

[VERSE 3]
It s[Bm]eems so [F#]long[Bm] ago,
[Dmaj7]Nancy [C#m7]was a[F#m7]lone,
A f[A]orty five be[Bm]side her head,
[A]An op[E7]en teleph[A]one.

[CHORUS]
[C#]We told her she was b[F#m]eautiful,
We t[D]old her she was f[A]ree
[E]But none of us would [F#m]meet her in
The H[C#]ouse of M[D]ystery,
The H[A]ouse of[E] Myst[F#m]ery.

[VERSE 4]
And [Bm]now [F#]you look a[Bm]round you,
[Dmaj7]See her [C#m7]every[F#m7]where,
M[A]any use her b[Bm]ody,
M[A]any c[E7]omb her h[A]air.

[CHORUS]
[C#]In the hollow o[F#m]f the night
When y[D]ou are cold and n[A]umb
You h[E]ear her talking f[F#m]reely then,
She's h[C#]appy that you've c[D]ome,
She's h[A]appy t[E]hat you've [F#m]come.
