My Before And After Chords & Lyrics - Jimmy Needham

Intro – [Ebm] * [Bsus] * [F#] * C#sus (x2)

[VERSE1]

I [Bsus]said you gotta leave, you gotta[F#] promise me,
It's the be[Ebm]ginning of my end, you gotta [C#sus]promise me,
How can a [Bsus]holy God renew a w[F#]icked Pharisee,
[Ebm] C#sus (let ring)
I'm sayin' I'm like Peter in the boat so just depart from me.
It seems I'm [Bsus]destined for doom like [F#]ancient prophecy,
And in the [Ebm]dark I'm consumed, it's just[C#sus] too much for me,
With sin in [Bsus]full bloom my gloom[F#] booms by the full moon,
[Ebm] C#sus (let ring)
And I'm thinkin' to myself, "How can You rescue me?”

[CHORUS]

[Ebm] My [Bsus]before and after, [F#] I [C#sus]can't but sing.
[Ebm] My [Bsus]before and after, [F#] I'll[C#sus] sing praises to my King.
[Ebm] My [Bsus]before and after, [F#] Here's the [C#sus]anthem, let it ring,
[Ebm] One love,[Bsus] two arms, [F#]three scars, [C#sus] Draw us to where You are,
[Ebm] [Bsus] [F#] [C#sus] (let ring)
No one is, too far, for You to save a heart.

C#sus interlude (one bar)

[VERSE 2]

Then in the [Bsus]darkness of this room You [F#]snuck up next to me,
You put Your [Ebm]hand upon my wound and w[C#sus]hispered, "Rest in Me.”

And there I [Bsus]stepped out of the tomb and in[F#]to destiny,
the rest they say is [Ebm]history,
C#sus (let ring)
Your grace is such a mystery.

[TO CHORUS]

[Ebm] * [Bsus] * [F#] * [C#m] (x1)

[BRIDGE]

I got a [Ebm]name change, and that's the [Bsus]strange thing,
'Cause I was [Ebm]once stained, now I'm [Bsus]called saint. (x2)

[TO CHORUS]

[Ebm] * [Bsus] * [F#] * C#sus (x4) (end on [C#])

~~~~~
This is easiest to play with a Capo on 2. (Chords are not relative to that, these
are the true chords.)
