Miracle River Chords & Lyrics - Judy Collins

CAPO: 4th Fret

[INTRO]
[G]

[VERSE 1]

They say that when you get there
That's when the real magic [C]starts
Go through the [G]plains of desire
Past the waterfall of [C]sparks
Ten [Em]thousand burning deserts
[G]Will weed the taker from the [Am]giver
But it's [C]less about arriving
[D]Than the journey to miracle [C]river [G]

[VERSE 2]

Some live for the sparkle of the water
That will heal their aching [C]souls
Turn back the [G]restless hands of time
And make their broken spirits [C]whole
But [Em]sometimes promises of love are sweeter
[G]Than the visions they de[Am]liver
So bless the [C]good with the bad
[D]On the journey to miracle [C]river [G]

[CHORUS]
When you're [Em]finally free, [B7]you will see
The [Em]diamond's a [D]child of the [Em]mind
Not just a [G]prize you saved from the [B7]jaws of fate
It was [Em]in your heart all the time
When you [C]finally reach your desti[B7]nation
[Em]Fall down on your knees and thank your maker
For all the [C]crosses and the blessings
[D]On the journey to miracle [C]river

[VERSE 3]
Every [G]heartbeat is a piece in the puzzle
We're all here to [C]solve
You can face it or [G]just turn away
But either way one day you'll [C]see it all
Oh, [Em]winding in the distance
[G]Like shimmering molten [Am]silver
It will [C]wash away the shadows
[D]Of your journey to miracle [C]river [G]

[CHORUS]
When you're [Em]finally free, [B7]you will see
The [Em]diamond's a [D]child of the [Em]mind
Not just a [G]prize you saved from the [B7]jaws of fate
It was [Em]in your heart all the time
When you [C]finally reach your desti[B7]nation
[Em]Fall down on your knees and thank your maker
For all the [C]crosses and the blessings
[D]On the journey to miracle [C]river
For all the [C]loves and the losses
[D]On the journey to miracle [C]river
