I Overlooked An Orchid Chords & Lyrics - Mickey Gilley

[INTRO G]

#1.
[G]The orchid is a flower [F]that [C]blooms so tender[G]ly.
[G]It thrills the fairest lady [Em7]of the [D]land.
If [G]placed beside a blushing rose the [C]rose could
not com[G]pare.
[G]But how was such as [D]I, to under[G]stand?[D] [G]

[CHORUS]
[G]I overlooked an orchid while [C]searching for a
[G]rose.
[G]The orchid that I overlooked was [D]you.
The [G]rose that I was searching for has [C]proved to
be un[G]true.
[G]The orchid, that I [D]find, my dear, was [G]you.

INTERLUDE: [G] [D] [G]

#2.
[G]The rose has [D]lost its [G]color, but the [C]orchid stays
the [G]same.
[G]And I'm alone to face these lonely [D]years.
I [G]didn't see the orchid, I was [C]looking for a [G]rose.
[G]And now I pay the [D]price with bitter [G]tears.

A seventies smash from Kraziekhat.
