Daddys Drinking Up Our Christmas Chords & Lyrics - Smiley Bates

[INTRO]
[D] [G]

[VERSE 1]
[G]A gentle snow came drifting down
that falls on skid row [C]too
And on the curb there [D]sat a child
His little cheeks turned [G]blue
He [G]watched the neon cross the way
Looked up and said to [C]me
Daddy's drinking up our [G]Christmas
In that [D]bar across the [G]street

[CHORUS]
In that [C]bar across the street
There's a [G]woman Daddy knows
And [C]every time it's payday night
That's [G]right where Daddy [D]goes
I [G]left my Momma cryin'
She'll cry herself to [C]sleep
Daddy's drinking up our [G]Christmas
In that [D]bar across the [G]street

[INSTRUMENTAL]
[D] [G]

[VERSE 2]
I [G]stood there on the corner
A sick man down and [C]sad
You [D]see, I'd just been heading to
That bar the child des[G]cribed
But [G]here's one foolish father
That honky tonks won't [C]beat
It could have been my [G]son who spoke
These [D]words upon the [G]street

[CHORUS]
In that [C]bar across the street
There's a [G]woman Daddy knows
And [C]every time it's payday night
That's [G]right where Daddy [D]goes
I [G]left my Momma cryin'
She'll cry herself to [C]sleep
Daddy's drinking up our [G]Christmas
In that [D]bar across the [G]street
