[E]My next door neighbour was a man named Joe

Yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda , yadda"

[VERSE 2]
[E]I said to Joe "I can't hear a word you say
[E]those cicadas are singing like the end of days"
[A]Joe turned to me and then he said
[B]"Listen with your chest and not with your head"

[CHORUS]
[E]"Give your ears a rest and listen with your chest"
[E]"Give your ears a rest and listent with your chest"
[A]"Give your ears a rest and listen with your chest"
[B]"Give your ears a rest and listent with your chest"
[E]Give your ears a rest and listen, really listen with your chest."

[VERSE 3]
[E]I travelled the world for many years
[E]Searching for the one but finding oceans of tears

[E]"Give your ears a rest and listent with your chest"

[VERSE 4]
[E]Now many years later with a family of my own
[A]I heard that Joe was in a nursing home
[B]My kids and I visited him there and what did we see
[E]Old Joe was standing underneath a tree
[E]Joe looked at me and said with zest
[E]"You've been listening with your chest"
